We all know that creating and sharing videos is a great way of showcasing our cakes (You don’t know that? Well, go and read “5 Reasons Video will ROCK your Cake Business”.. It’s OK, I’ll wait for you here until you’re done… read it? Great.)
As soon as I said this, I knew what would pop into your mind..
“Eeek! VIDEO??? I don’t want to be on a screen! I’d be dreadful. I wouldn’t know what to say. Besides, my cakes can speak for themselves.”.
So, let me ease you in gently and talk about ways of showcasing your cakes on video WITHOUT having to talk ‘to camera’… or talk at all, in fact!
Have you heard of Animoto?
Animoto isn’t new, it’s been around for quite a few years, but it’s a great way of creating a professional-looking and engaging video using your photos. It’s very simple to use and is very affordable if you use it regularly.
Before I go on, let me show you a video I created…
What I love about Animoto
- It’s ever so simple to create your first video: Sign up, choose a theme, upload your photos, arrange your photos in the order you’d like them seen, add some text, choose your music, and you’re done! Bingo
- It’s great value! Prices start from £16 per month if you pay monthly, or £96 if you pay annually. You’d obviously want to create more than one video: You could have a monthly video, or seasonal, or even one video for Weddings, one for birthdays, one for cupcakes, and so on.
- You can share them everywhere! Embed them on your website (people are 63% more likely to purchase having seen a video), share them on Facebook, upload to Youtube, upload to Instagram (I’ll be honest, I haven’t tried this with an Animoto YET but in theory you can upload up to 30 seconds of video), you can email them to clients, and so on!
- They’re quick to create: Granted, your first video might take a few hours to create but once you understand what you’re doing then I’d estimate 20 minutes to create a video. That’s not bad!
Please note: I am in no way affiliated with, or to, Animoto. If they ever see me in the street, then I’ll happily accept a doughnut as a way of thanking me for my shout out, though 🙂
